First animation test: characters (designed by Ian and Anton, pupils at the German School) collecting a piece of a map

Find the great character by the Young Pirates below the to-do list of the level design. Creating the ‘Level 1 – The Beach’, ‘Level 2 – The Jungle’ and ‘Level 3 – The Village’ is our next task after we’ve finished our sidekick and main character.

Level design test

LEVEL 1 – THE BEACH:
We need:
On the sea:
- boats, ships, barrels, treasure chest, …

In the water:
- fish, sharks, boots, crabs, octopus, shells …

On the island:
- coconut trees, starfish, mermaids, shells …

In the sky :
- seagulls, clouds, sun,…

You can jump on:
- islands
- back of a whale (separate water fountain for animation)
- barrels, ships, rafts, treasure chest, … which are swimming on the water to collect the bottles

The traps:
- die if you fall into the water
- die if a shark, sea monster,… catches you? (please design this monsters like the main characters that we can animate them later. Open and shut mouth)

LEVEL 2 – THE JUNGLE:
We need:

Foreground:
- grass, big stones, sand, …

In the thick of the jungle:
- wild animals, vines, green plants, colourful flowers, waterfalls, …

Background:
- swarm of birds, mountains, …

You can jump on:
- trees, stones, … to collect e.g. bones/skulls

The traps:
- die of carnivorous plant trying to eat you (please design this plants like the main characters that we can animate them later. E.g. open and shut plant mouth)
- die of attacking animals (e.g. the spit of a snake, prongs of a dinosaur, falling banana of a monkey, bird poo of a pelican, fire of a dragon, paw of a bear, poisoned antenna of a snail, poisoned arrow of a bee, tail of the tiger) –> cut out in separate pieces

LEVEL 3 – THE VILLAGE:
There could be different floors hovering in the air. Houses on the ground, huts on stilts connected with chain bridges. Flying castles. Flying phantasy shops. Flying pirate ships selling skulls. Compare with levels of

Super Mario Brothers

We need:
The flying little villages:
- huts, houses, hovering castles, shops, cars?, people?

Background:
- clouds, sun, …

You can jump on:
- all the hovering houses to collect the e.g coins

The traps:
- dogs throw sausages out of windows?
- pirates throw skulls?
- …
